Velodyne LiDARs Puck LITE is a lighter-weight version of the VLP-16 PUCK for applications that demand a lower weight to meet their requirements. The Puck LITEhas identical performance to VLP-16 with the only difference in weight of 590 g vs. 830 g for the latter. No other changes have been made to Puck LITEas it retains its patented 360 surround view to capture real-time 3D LiDAR data that includes distance and calibrated reflectivity measurements.
The Puck LITE has a range of 100 m with dual return mode to capture greater detail in the 3D image with low power consumption. A compact footprint and an industry-leading weight for a LiDAR sensor with high resolution make it ideal for UAV/drone and mobile applications in the areas of 3D mapping/imaging, inspection, and navigation.
The Puck LITE supports 16 channels and generates approximately 300,000 points/second from a 360 horizontal field of view and a 30 vertical field of view (15 from the horizon) The Puck LITE has no visible rotating parts and is encapsulated in a package that allows itto operate over a wide temperature range and environmental conditions.

Dual Returns
Velodyne sensors support a dual return mode that enables lidar applications to more accurately capture the details of complex environments, such as forests, infrastructure and buildings, which contain scattered small objects and non-opaque surfaces. A significant advantage over single returns alone, providing the user with multiple returns greatly increases the number of useable points available to map or navigate any setting. This feature enables Velodynes sensors to deliver the precise 3D image data needed for insights to advance efficiency, safety, sustainability and more.
Real-Time 3D LiDAR
The VLP-16 has a range of 100 m, and the sensors low power consumption (~8 W), light weight (830 g), compact footprint (~103 mm x 72 mm), and dual return capability make it ideal not only for autonomous vehicles but also robotics and mobile terrestrial 3D mapping applications.
Velodynes LiDAR Puck supports 16 channels, ~300,000 points/second, 360 horizontal field of view and a 30 vertical field of view, with 15 up and down. The Velodyne LiDAR Puck does not have visible rotating parts, making it highly resilient in challenging environments (Rated IP67) while operating over a wide temperature range (-10C to +60C).
